Juiced Scorpion X: Features

The new and updated Scorpion X features a bigger 52-volt 15Ah battery pack and an upgraded 8-speed cassette, with a 56T-11T transmission for smooth pedaling at higher speeds. This e-bike comes with the more powerful Retroblade motor initially designed for the HyperScorpion. While it’s rated at 750 W, it outputs higher peak power.

The pedal system is nothing like what you’d find on many other entry-level e-bikes. It’s made of a high-quality aluminum platform to offer a studier performance than plastic platforms. It also provides outstanding traction support making it easier to maintain a grip with your shoes. The pedals come with extra-large reflector panels to make it easier for those driving behind or ahead of you to spot you.

The Scorpion X is not only a ride for the streets but also an off roader. Therefore, suspension matters a great deal. The Juice Scorpion comes equipped with generous suspension support to give you a smooth ride on bumpy and rugged terrains. The front fork is a triple clamp system with hydraulic lockout and bolt-on dropout. Upfront is a 28.6mm steer tube that provides an even better natural suspension.

The e-bike’s frame is heavy but with the additional rear suspension, you’ll hardly feel uncomfortable riding on uneven terrain. The heavy frame requires strong brakes, and the Juice Scorpion X is fitted with Tektro hydraulic disc brakes, with a 180mm sized front rotor and 160mm sized rear rotors. The front rotors are larger to offer extra stopping power.

The 8-speed bike gives you a fair amount of gear options to choose from, helping you maintain an effortless cadence as you maneuver the city streets. The only issue with the bike is that it glitches at low speeds, and some reviewers complained that the only time they suffered a chain drop was when they were riding under 5 MPH. However, at high speed, the bike offers excellent performance.

The e-bike also features an LCD display located on the right handlebar to help you keep track of your riding metrics. It comes with a total of six pedal-assist levels to choose from, which is by far the highest compared to other entry-level e-bikes. On the display, there’s a 9-bar battery meter that gives you an accurate reading of how much juice is remaining.

Other settings displayed on the Juiced Scorpion X LCD Display include:

  • Amps
  • Current speed
  • Watts
  • Voltage
  • Light settings
  • Odometer
  • Watt-hours

Juiced Scorpion X: The Wheels and Tires

The Scorpion X is optimized for speed, and the stable wheels make it more enjoyable to ride. The tires feature extra air cushioning, along with ARMOR puncture protection to reduce the risk of a flat or blowout while riding at high speeds or when you hit the occasional rock.

You can even set the tires to as low as 5 PSI, which will come in handy when riding over sand or other loose terrains. Or, you can set the tires to 35 PSI to get maximum accelerations on paved surfaces.

Juice Scorpion X: Performance and Battery

As noted, the Juiced Scorpion X is a Class 3 e-bike, with pedal activated motor assistance up to (claimed) 28 MPH. It is equipped with a Bafang rear geared hub motor with a 750 W /80 Nm torque motor output that offers terrific acceleration even with two people riding. If you ride on hilly roads frequently, the Scorpion X will help you traverse those terrains more easily.

It comes with a 676Wh lithium-ion battery, which is fairly large. And, you can even upgrade to a 1KWh battery for extra range. With optimal riding settings, you can travel over 45 miles on a single charge. With throttle-only riding, the 45-mile range drops to 20-25 miles, depending on your riding style.

The included 2-amp charger, while being highly portable, takes 6-7 hours to fully recharge the battery. That time is too long for many cyclists, so you might want to consider upgrading to the 4-amp charge that cuts down the charging time to around 3-4 hours. The good news is that the battery is removable, meaning you can pluck it out and charge it indoors.
